Burnished water

In Images, Walks by Felicity Martin

I shot this image of water flowing over rocks in the River Lednock just above the Wee Cauldron. The colour of the autumn leaves reflected on the surface attracted me, as well as the glowing highlights on the curved leading edge of the flow as it bent over the rocks.

This spot is on the Glen Lednock Circular walk above Comrie. Follow Monument Road to a footpath sign then turn right. The Wee Cauldron is on a loop path to the right after about 1km. Continuing uphill on the trail brings you to the dramatic Deil’s Cauldron, where a much higher waterfall drops into a deep, dark pool. Assuming you escape the clutches of the devil, the route continues up the glen and crosses the river by the Shaky Bridge, before returning through Laggan Wood on the far side of the gorge.
