A mountain bike festival in Comrie sounded too good to miss, at least with my camera if not with my rather decrepit suspension-less mountain bike. The event was conceived by Comrie Croft, in collaboration with Hansen’s Kitchen (our local deli, coffee roaster and real beer specialist) and Muckmedden (renowned mountain bike event organisers).
The weekend was designed to be relaxed and entertaining occasion for all ages, with a multiple-stage Funduro on the Saturday and kids’ challenges on Sunday, plus an enormous number of ‘side shows’. The atmosphere was enhanced by good food, vibrant music and a healthy dose of sunshine.
Adventurer Mark Beaumont and constituency MSP Roseanna Cunningham opened the event and the extended Comrie Croft mountain bike trails, which now amount to 16km. I shot the images above during the Funduro and they feature various downhill stages, including the dual slalom.
